Use Your Existing Power Tool Battery: 11 Brands

Treating varroa across a remote bush apiary, a rooftop hive, or multiple scattered sites used to mean lugging extension cords, generators, or 12V car battery setups everywhere. The InstantVap Compact 18V Cordless Vaporizer solves this completely. It runs on the 18V power tool battery you already own, with 11 major brands supported, so you can vaporize anywhere with no leads, no generators, no setup hassle.

Built by InstantVap, a world leader in professional oxalic acid vaporisers, the Compact delivers 20 to 25 second treatments per hive at a pre-set 230°C, with intelligent LED feedback telling you exactly when it's warming, ready, vaporising, or running low on battery. Backed by a 2-year warranty plus post-warranty repair.

Why Choose Cordless Over Mains Powered?

Treat anywhere, remote apiaries, rooftop hives, a neighbour's backyard, with no power source needed. Setup is faster per site, click in your battery and you're working, and one tool can travel between locations with batteries swapped as needed for full-day runs. For migratory beekeepers and multi-site operators, cordless is transformational. For a single home apiary near mains power, the InstantVap Turbo may suit better.

Will It Work With My Battery?

Almost certainly. The Compact supports 11 popular 18V/20V brands including Milwaukee, Makita, Dewalt, Bosch, AEG, Metabo, Einhell, Ridgid, Hikoki, and Parkside. Select your brand at checkout, only one is compatible per unit. Batteries and chargers are not included.

How Many Hives Per Charge?

Roughly 1Ah for warm-up, then 10 treatments per additional 1Ah. An 8Ah battery delivers around 70 hive treatments, ideal for commercial sideliners. Carrying two batteries on rotation covers 100+ hives in a single working day.

LED Feedback System

Slow blinking means warming up, steady-on means ready to dispense, fast blinking means actively vaporising, and double blinking with a pause signals a low battery, clearly visible even in direct sunlight.

Why 230°C?

The scientifically optimal vaporisation temperature is pre-set and not adjustable, so you can't get it wrong. Higher temperatures degrade the oxalic acid, lower ones underdose the hive.

Built for Daily Use

Acid-resistant stainless steel, an ergonomic handle for wrist comfort during long runs, a self-supporting design in the hive hole, a tool-free 1 to 4g dispenser with spare storage in the handle, a replaceable 6mm brass spout, and battery over-discharge protection.

Which battery brands work with the InstantVap Compact?

It supports 11 brands including Milwaukee, Makita, Dewalt, Bosch, AEG, Metabo, Einhell, Ridgid, Hikoki and Parkside. Choose one at checkout.

How many hives can I treat per battery charge?

Roughly 10 treatments per 1Ah after warm-up. An 8Ah battery delivers around 70 hive treatments, ideal for commercial sideliner use.

How long does each treatment take?

Each 2-gram dose takes 20 to 25 seconds, fast enough for a commercial sideliner to treat 100 to 150 hives in a single afternoon.

Can I adjust the operating temperature?

No, it's pre-set at 230°C, the scientifically optimal vaporisation temperature, so it can't be set incorrectly by mistake.

How does the LED feedback work?

Slow blinking means warming up, steady-on means ready, fast blinking means actively vaporising, and double blinking signals low battery.

Is this better than the mains-powered Turbo model?

For multiple apiary sites or remote work, yes. For a single home apiary near mains power, the InstantVap Turbo may be a better fit.

Does it come with a warranty?

Yes, it's backed by a 2-year manufacturer warranty plus post-warranty repair service.

What safety gear is required to use it?

Always wear a respirator rated for acid vapours, chemical-safety goggles, and chemical-resistant gloves when vaporising oxalic acid.

What size hive entrance hole does it require?

A 6.5mm hive entrance hole is required for the replaceable 6mm brass spout to sit and dispense correctly.

Are batteries included with the vaporizer?

No, batteries and chargers are not included. Use your existing 18V or 20V power tool battery from a supported brand.
