Steps for Introducing a New Queen to a Queenless Hive

It's always a good idea to leave the hive queenless for a day or two before introducing a new queen. Ensure that there are no queen cells present. If you find any, remove them to make sure the bees realize they are without a queen. This will help them develop a tendency to accept a new one.

When you're ready to introduce the new queen, place her in a cage filled with sugar candy. Since the bees now understand that their hive is queenless, they will be more inclined to accept the new queen. It typically takes 2 to 3 days for the bees to eat through the candy, allowing the queen to be released from the cage
